Hi again . . . . .

It's been awhile I know!!!

So, Please excuse me this post is going to be a lil' update of all things Mel!

The end of 2011 and the Beginning of 2012 has been a blur really for me!

We had lots going on, me trying to run 2 businesses, kid's birthday, end of year school shannagon's, anniversary, antenatal appointments right before christmas, shopping for christmas, christmas, new year etc . . . .

SO as much as I wanted to share things here I just have not plan had the time!

But, I wanted to stop in today and let you know . . . YES, I'm still here - Lots of changes for 2012

GOOD changes . . . .

For our Facebook followers you have already noticed a few of the changes,
But for all my Blog readers {Anyone out there . . . . *WAVES*}
2012 is going to hopefully be a creative year!
Lots of NEW Card Designs and Card Sets available, Changes to our Shop {Categories: So you can actually find products!} and much, much more!!

I also got some nice goodies for chrissy that i'll share all about soon . . . .

On the personal side,

I'm sure you are all wondering how the Pregnancy is progressing . . . . ALL GOOD so Far!

I am now currently in my 33rd Week and it is certainly becoming VERY real!!

7 weeks and counting down!!

our last year certainly has come full circle . . . .

I'm hoping to be still be able to pop by every now and then with lots of piccies and designs to share!

So, I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas and a Brilliant NEW YEAR!!

Ahhh Sunday Afternoon!!
Hope you are all having a lovely relaxing Sunday.
Our day here is just beautiful, albeit a lil' humid - nothing could be more of a perfect day!!
Plus I'm kid free . . . . . for NOW!!!

So, I thought I'd show you my latest creation!!
I had a spare mmmnnn 20 minutes yesterday afternoon after giving the house a good clean.
Hubby was out mowing the lawn and while I had a spare moment before getting ready to go out to the movies with hubs,
I thought I'd have a go at doing a quick card with one of the cutest images from the 'Create a Critter' Cricut Cartridge.

As I looked at this image, the card idea popped right into my head - so I had to give it a go!?

What do you think??

Cute or what!

I cut the Owl out at 3 1/2" with the Create a Critter Cartridge,

The wording is from 'Birthday Bash' Cartridge, which was cut at 4 1/4".

The Background Paper is Stampin' Up!'s Pattern Paper Stack in the NEW In Colors - Pool Party.

The size of the card is 4.25" x 11" folded in half.

BUT who doesn't love an Owl card these days,

this is a perfect 'all ages' card - I think I could give this to a 10 year old OR a 30 year old!!

I just love it - it turned out just as I imagined!!

mmmmnnn tho I just realised I forgot to add the dot on the i in the birthday so . . . I'm going to have a lil' more of a play with it,

as you know me - a card without ribbon is a lil' too plain for me but who knows . . . .

I have been playing a bit with this cartridge of late,

hopefully i'll be able to finish off a few more cards this afternoon to show you what I have been doing!?

Designer Fabric!?

I Just wanted to share with you all another lil' 'Recent' passion of mine . . . . .

As I'm doing up Bubba's nursery I have decided to create some items myself,
So therefore I have started to collect some very cute n' adorable fabric!!
BUT I have learnt this is very much the same type of addiction beginning as when I started Scrapbooking!!!
I KNOW . . . . this ain't gonna be good!

Hubs just smiled at me this morning when i mentioned how addictive it can be . . . .
then he said 'I think you better go up the road and she the old sheila!' (my mother in law - who is also an avid sewer!!)
He knows how alike we are and every day I'm showing more and more attributes like his mother . . . .
he doesn't mind because he mother is such a wonderful lady!!
we just laugh about it!

But it really is just like scrapbooking,
there's so many gorgeous designs out there . . . .
I just keep finding more and more!!
DANGEROUS!!

I'll share what I create, once I stop buying sample fabric's!! :)

But Fabrics aren't JUST for Sewing . . . .
I have seen so many cute ideas using fabrics, even Stampin' Up! have Fabrics now too!!
AND they can be used with Papercraft sooo well!!

I'd love to show you some of the designs I have found here BUT the owner's of the designs proberly would Mind - so when I have some creations I'll share! :)

Hi All!
I bet when you popped over here you thought you were in the wrong place!?
I hope you are enjoying the NEW Blog Layout and some NEW Colors/Design!!

I always like to keep my girls on their toes!!
as many of you know I love changing things around a bit every now and then,
AND with the NEW 2011-13 In Colors from Stampin' Up!®, what better time - I thought!!
I love the NEW IN Colors that much I thought I'd design my whole brand around them!! LOL
PLUS add a bit of personality with my ever present coastal theme - just love the Hibiscus . . .

Love to know what you think of the NEW Blog Design, Logo etc??

I'm hoping to have some more card designs to share with you all shortly,
BUT Today I'm just slightly kept busy with Doctors appointments and Booking into the Hospital!!
oh JOY!!
So much running around for something so simple . . . . ahhhh those were the days!!!!!

Christmas Projects!

Today,

I wanted to show you all what I was planning for a Christmas Themed Craft Night at our local Church in late November.

BUT they will be going ahead with other crafts!

So I thought I'd show you my creations as otherwise they'll have no use!? LOL

I thought They were nice and easy projects,

Something even the newest papercraft could have a go at!!

Color Combo: Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz.

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Welcome Christmas, Occasional Quotes {Hostess Set}, Delightful Decorations,
Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Tree Trimmings.

All projects are heaps simple to create!!

Firstly, there's the 'Family Greetings Card' - oh too simple
Using the Delightful decorations stamp set and ornament punch i created the main baubles, then using a 1" circle punch I punch out the photo, tied some linen string around the top of the 'baubles' and mounted with dimensional/foam tape.
I think the rest of the card speaks for itself!?
any questions - just ask??

Then we have the 'Lollie box' which my good friend Leonie Schroder gave me the original directions,
made from a A5 card, scoring at 4cm on the long-side, then 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm on the Short-side, cut the 4cm flaps and stick together!!
Then I just punched a circle window with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, stamped the sentiment on white and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch, inserted the bag of lollies, punched a hole at the top, inserted ribbon and tie in a bow, I then attached the tag with some linen thread around the bow.

Now, onto our 'Tag gift Pack' - very queasy as 'some' would say!!
simply stamp 5 of each color of ornament tag images around the edges of a piece of A4 Whisper White card.
Punch out the images with the Ornament Punch, using a hole punch, punch out a hole at the top of the tag/bauble.
Put tags into a cello bag, die cut a Top Note, score and fold in half and attach to top of cello bag with double sided tape.
stamp and cut out the 'Season's Greetings' Sentiment and attach it with dimentionals/foam tape.

AND last but not least, our 'Pillow Box Gift Ornament'
too simple once again -
Die cut a pillow box with the big shot, punch a hole in the top flap, attach some ribbon, stick box together.
Stamp 2 Bauble images from the 'Tree Trimmings' Stamp Set with Baja Breeze and cut around images.
Attach first bauble image to front of pillow box with tape, then attach the second bauble image on top of first but only put tape down the middle so the edges can be pulled up to create a 3D Bauble.
Stamp and cut out the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment - attach with tape to the top of box.
Then attach 3 Diamontes/Rhinestones to the Bauble.
NOW, if your worried that your pressie will fall out of the bottom when this box is hanging on the tree, just tape the bottom shut with some sticky tape!?

Well, I hope you liked those projects??
If you would like kits for any of these projects - I will be putting these in the 'Shop' soon.
all will come with everything BUT the stamp sets to create the projects, plus a more directive Idea Sheet for each project!!

a lil' update . . .

Hi all,
I'm sure you have been all wondering how things have been going on the personal side for me!?
sorry this is going to be a personal post from me today . . . . .

As most of you are aware i'm pregnant with 'our first' bub!
At first I was very ill but it's starting to subside - which in reality it should be considering I've hit 20 weeks today!!
I still get 'bub sickness' mostly all day every day - especially when i'm a lil hungry!!
I have been told this is normal and it sometimes means you are having a boy {Wives tale?! mmmnnn we'll see!}
BUT, at least it is not as bad as it WAS!

I'm enjoying finally being able to get back to feeling slightly 'normal' with simple things like coloring my locks {as you can tell in the pic - I certainly need some!!}and acrylic nails!!

On Friday, we had our 18 - 20 week Ultrasound Scan!
Our last scan { #4 Scan!!}- I have been having quite a few of these scans because it was a high risk pregnancy, considering what occurred in january!!

BUT, all is good and Bub was the usual cheeky self!
every scan 'it' likes to play up and not let the scanner get what they need, especially at 'those' times where i'm ready to burst!!
it seams to be very much like hubby when it comes to photos - doesn't like 'em!!! LOL
TOO BAD!!

I'm Also been busy getting the Nursery Ready!

As you can see it still needs curatins . . . . next project??

I'm really happy and proud of myself, that I have been able to do it all on my income - as we had to start from scratch, as it has been a looonnnggg time between bub's!!

PLUS at the very same time I have started another Business,

It has kept me quite busy over the last couple of weeks - need some days off I tell ya!
Feast OR Famine and we ain't starving!! LOL

Another Race day we're missing out on this year - Bathurst was the most painful for us to watch from home I think this year!!
As you can tell hubs and I are BIG Motorsport fans!!
Bathurst 1000, F1 Melbourne and Moto GP at The Island all our fav non-events this year . . . . BUT we will be gettin' the Sydney 500 V8 event in before bub arrives - and we already know 'it' loves to hear the roar of those cars!!

Anyways, enough 'bout us . . . .

Sew Suite

OK - I have to admit,

In the last 5 months I really have not got a lot of stampin' done!!

But there's sometimes when i find myself quite pleased with the results!

one of these times was when I attended a recent Church Craft Afternoon!!

I had this stamp set for quite some time and had done 'Nothing' with it!!

Sound Familiar!?

The stamp set is a Stampin' Up! set called 'Sew Suite', which was available in a recent SU! Mini catalogue.

I loved the theme and thought it would be perfect for my MIL {Mother In-Law!} an avid sewer!!

so, I put myself to task at the Craft afternoon and this is one of the cards i created and quite like!!

Of course i needed a lil' google surfin' to get me started, but here's the end result?

Color Combo: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz.

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Sew Suite, Pattern Pieces {A la Carte}, A Word For You.

Papers: Stampin' Up! 2011 In Colors Printed Patterns DSP

AND you know what the the greatest thing is?

There's no ribbons OR Embellishments on the entire card!?

A NEW one for me!!
I just love how the measuring tape gives the card a lift!

Unfortunately now both the background stamp {Pattern Pieces}and Sew Suite Stamp Stamp have been retired!! :-( Sooo sad!!
But at least I can still enjoy this stamp set - hopefully in time i'll share with you other creations I have made with these stamps!!

Antique Bliss Butterfly!

Hi All,
I made it back again, before the week is over. {SHOCK HORROR!!}

I got lots of cards I want show you,
which I have been creating over the past months - just never made it to a blog post or 2!!

This card originally started out as a CASE of Teneale Williams Card {see card here}
Teneale's work is absolutely AMAZING and once you visit I'm sure I'll never see you again!! :-P

Funnily enough . . . . . I couldn't CASE it right down to the 'very' detail,
so as usual I changed it a bit!
BUT the really funny thing is I'm not usually a purple or 'Concord Crush' Person - but I still loved the end result!!
PLUS I'm just not THAT talented like Teneale!!
This was my first 'TRY' at Antique or 'Vintage' style . . . . don't mind it BUT i think I like Bright - Vintage!?

So then of course,
I thought since i love the card so much - I'd try some other colors!??

Lucky I took Photos when I finished these cards,

as being my MIL's {Mother In-Law} birthday was right around the corner and she loves purple - it became her Birthday Card!!!

I hope She liked it - She's not a crazy card lady like me, But she always appreciates the effort i go to with my cards!!

Well, I hope I maybe gave some Inspiration to someone out there tonight.

I'm off to get some shut eye, as it has been an extremely busy week.

As, recently I started a Commercial Cleaning Business {by necessity & request and it's booming at the moment!!

it's been a real help with the bubba medical and bits n' bobs expenses of late!!

Well, I might just get a sleep in {I need all that I can get . . .} and breaky in bed in the mornin' . . . . .

HSC Good Luck!!

Just a quick one this afternoon!

I was asked by one of my cleaning clients to create a card for her neice as she wanted to wish her good luck with her HSC exams!!

I thought I'd keep it simple, but had no clue what to have on the card as i didn't have any school or graduating stamps!??
What to do . . . . . with a quick check up on google I cam up with this little gem!!

the only thing i'd change is the fact of the bare sentiment!!
I really wanted to have some bitty flower punch with a pearl to finish it off but . . . . . it's still on my 'wish list'!!
I used my favourite extra large Scallop circle punch with deleted Stampin Up! Papers!
I did the card in around 15 mins,
as that was all the time I had to spare as I had just got in the door from a busy day,
Then Hubs & I was on my way to see Motley Crue & Bret Michaels at Sydney Entertainment Centre!!!
VERY much a Queasy card, as my good friend Leonie Schroder would say!!!

The client was very pleased with this and even wanted more cards in the future!
NOT too bad I thought!!

Well I better get going . . . . got baby furniture arriving this arvo!!

Christmas Workshop . . . . Already!?

Yes, it seams it is 'that' time of year again!
AND with 'World Card Making Day' coming up on October 1st, what better time to start your stash!!
To get you started, I thought i'd show you my last workshop cards!

I'm always, year round getting requests to do christmas cards, so it's not a made dash at the end of November!!

These cards are pretty simple, really 5 - 10 min cards!
mainly using Printed Papers or Embossed Card with minimal stamping involved.
All Stamps and Papers are from Stampin' up!

Our next lot of cards are exactly the same amount of effort involved but I think have a great effect!!

Using some Photo chips and word stripes (From Darkroom Door) with just a lil' bit of ribbon - you can create some effective cards in no time at all!

So simple . . . . .

The girls found that they completed them so quickly they were early out the door!

Miracle No.1 . . . . . it also for the first time EVER . . . wasn't raining! (Miracle No.2!)

I'm also taking orders for christmas cards, christmas card packs & Christmas Kits in the these last four cards theme.

Finally got back here . . .
I was going through my cards the other day, packing up etc.
AND came across this card, I really don't remember ever sharing this with you all!!

I'm quite proud of it, simple but very effective.

dainty for a sad occasion.

I actually cased it from somewhere on the net, but have no idea who the owner is!?

I only changed it a lil', softening the dots with adding the white card base!

Here's a closer shot of the Floral cut outs.
Yes, they are mounted with foam squares - albeit teeny tiny ones!!

Strength & Hope Workshop Cards

Back again!!

I thought I'd share with you all some cards from our workshop last thursday night!

We used the Strength & Hope Stamp Set, which was a fund-raising set in aid of breast cancer foundations worldwide!!

the clear mount version is the best for these cards I found - so you know exactly where your stamping!!

As I mentioned in my last post my Creative mojo has gone walkabouts and was worried that i might not ever find it again!

My workshop girls have been understanding, as it maybe caused by pregnancy hormones - god knows!!

OR the fact that i have had to pack up my stamp sets etc!? who knows . . . .

So therefore this class was a hard one for me - ????? I know!!

But we got thru it and i came up with these cards . . . . .

Been VERY Absent!?

Trust ME I have a VERY good Excuse!!
Sorry it's has been so long since I last Posted!?

I honestly have been trying to put a post together for the last month, but i just can't find the inspiration!!
So here goes . . . .

THE EXCUSE!

Most of my reader's may already know the exciting NEWS,
BUT for all other's out there . . . .
I'm happy to announce that I am expecting a bub! YAY!!
was a lil' of a surprise BUT a very welcome surprise!!!
We are finally past the 12 week (3 month) stage and are now looking forward to welcoming bub to our family in March next year!!

(not a great shot - no it doesn't have a long nose just it's arm got in the way!!)

So I hope you can all understand my absence now,
as my morning sickness has only just subsided and it was quite different to my first pregnancy all those years ago!! LOL

I'll try to keep you all updated with all the goings on,
but I'm none too sure how many posts will be craft related as this has quite taken over our household - trying to ready the home for another lil body in this house!?
In the process of these changes I have lost my creative space to ready it for a nursery,
Which has in that process banished my creative mojo along with it!!!!!!!
have no idea where it's gone and BOY! has it gone walkabout??

Hopefully I can slowly find it again once the nursery it complete but until then I'll try and share what we have been doing the past couple of months in workshops with you all!!

Is it June already!?

Well this month has been a quite one . . . . on this end of things!!
Honestly I have not blogged as I didn't want to bore you with another post with no card pic's!!

I have been laid up most of the month with a flu bug,
as my daughter went on her Yr 5/6 camp that meant as per usual I was going to have to waste the spare time being sick . . . . . oh Fantastic eh!??
Happens every time!!

But I have tried sooo had to at least get into the craft studio and try to get something done!!
But as most of the time my Mojo needs a bit of a jump-start, I go to Split Coast Stampers to get some inspiration, then I get stuck there and get no creating done . . . Familiar story!???

So, I have tried to create with those stamp sets I have had since I joined Stampin' Up!® over 18 months ago and still have not used nearly enough . . . hence why I have been trying to get some inspiration LOL!!

This is what I have been able to create . . . . So Far {HA HA!}

Yup it's taken me awhile . . . again, to show you what we got up to when Onie Schroder came for her last visit!!
As this was just before Mother's Day, We decided on a mother's day theme . . .
the 'Mother's Day' card was using a SAB Set and watercoloring with the Aqua Brushes!
So Simple!!

Plus Onie also showed us a very cool Cupcake Stamp Set and the Cupcake Punch . . . VERY cute!!
This card was my gift . . . . a tricky cupcake card!!
RIGHT on theme as we had choc chip cupcakes too!

So these are the Prretty Make n' Takes we did!
Just love the ruffle ribbons!!
The Box was a simple one too, background stamping with a Stampin' Around Stamp Wheel - mine went a lil' crazy tho!
made from a A5 card then scoring at 4cm on the long-side, then 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm on the Short-side . . . . cut the 4cm flaps and stick together how quick and easy is that!!

As the cards were such a simple BUT sooo effective idea, I just couldn't help but keep making these!

BOY It's a COLD One today!!
I've been a little absent of late . . . . running out of hours in the day to blog!!

I wanted to show you some cards from the most recent Stamp-a-Stack I did last Tuesday!
I really was none too pleased with these cards but, I think I'm just being to picky!

Honestly I think they may have too much going on . . . too busy!

But they went over fine on the day,

NOW I've got to come up with some more with this design as I have another SAS on Thursday Night!

I find this stamp set is a good one but I just don't find inspiration coming fore-with!!

Stampin' Around Wheels . . . . . . . Dismantled?

Yes, you read correct!
As wonderful as they are . . . . sometimes you find that image you require for a particular area is on a wheel!?
What to do eh . . . . let me explain?

Now, a friend of mine told me that she wanted a certain image for a card and she tried for over an hour to get the wheel to roll correctly so she could just get 'That' Image!?
BUT in the end gave up . . . .
So she contemplated dismantling the Rubber from the wheel and cutting up the images, just like we used to have to mount our stamps!!

NOW, I thought about this problem . . .
As I have always loved the Wheel designs but sometimes they either too busy or I wish thay had
a co-ordinated Stamp set!?
So I set about what my friend suggested, seamed like a fun idea, so I tried it . . . . .
You can always buy another wheel eh!

All you need is a good pair of Rubber Cutting scissors - just like the Stampin' Up!® Paper Snips.

I chose the Paper Snips over the Craft & Rubber Scissors as I needed to get into small and intricate spaces on the rubber and the paper snip cut right to the tip!

Then you will also need some EZ-Mount,

This is a Rubber Stamp Backing foam, that has a sticky side and a cling side for unmounted stamps.

You can also get it in black foam which is thinner.

I find the EZ-Mount Original is the best, as it gives the stamp enough padding when stamping.

Firstly using a craft knife, carefully cut along the seam where the rubber is glued to the Stampin' Around Wheel.

It should easily lift up once the glue has been cut at the seam.

Cut out your chosen image/s from the rubber, then peal off the backing sheet on the sticky side of the EZ-Mount.

Adhere your rubber stamp image to the sticky side of EZ-Mount, peal off the remaining backing sheet from the other side and trim around the rubber stamp.

Then you are ready to stamp!

At first it seams a very bad thing to do,

Especially DO NOT do this in front of Hubby!!

He 'may not' have a sense of humor about the many uses we now have for our Stampin' Wheels!!

NOW I have the desire to do this to every one of my wheels when I get them out to use . . . DANGEROUS!!

If you have a few empty DVD cases laying around,

they come in handy to use to store these extra stamp sets!

NOT bad tho,

For only $11.95 - $15.95 and you have a complete stamp set of at least 4 - 10 stamps!!

I have been playing around with them a bit and have used them in our most recent Stamp-A-Stack!

The girls just laughed at me . . . . the fact I was quite happy to destroy my wheels! Whaaat?

Stampin' Around Wheel - Take a Sip & Cupcakes

Clear Mount Block - B, C or E

EZ-Mount Static Cling Foam

Paper Snips

Now, you may notice that I have used the stamps as backgrounds!
Yes, the wheels do great backgrounds but when using this technique you can space them where you would like or have multible colors!?
But they are also great to add just the bit of detail also!!
As you can see with the in-tact wheel prints below - I have cut away the confetti and sparkles!?

Honestly I had these sitting in my cupboard for over a year without using them once,

this has given me the 'want' or opportunity to use them - you know the old saying

'Out of Sight, Out of Mind'!!

NOW that they are in my 'Stamp' Drawer I use them soo much more!!

Workshop with Onie ♥

As I'm gearing up for another Workshop with Leonie Schroder,
I wanted to show you what we created the last time 'Onie' was down!

As you may know Leonie Schroder was my upline when I was with Stampin' Up!®
She is such a creative lady I just had to get her to come down and entertain us for an afternoon of craft!
It was a fun afternoon and it was so good to just sit back and enjoy!

Onie showed us some fantastic card designs and projects,
including a very groovy Big Shot® box demo!
I just love the Colors in the Paper Onie used!

Might just have to get me some of them . . . . .
PLUS I just Lurved what was inside these boxes, just for ME!

She had a whole heap of cards that she also showed us,

Then Onie showed us how to 'shrink' the Boarder of the Tulips Embossing Folder to suit your card size!

We colored the floral image with markers - Pear Pizzazz & Rich Razzleberry!

I hope you all are enjoying this Easter with your family and loved ones!
While you reflect on the REAL reason behind all the Bunnies and Eggs . . . . . .

As this Easter we are not only Celebrating Christ but also ANZAC Day!

Thanking the ones who have given their lives!

It really is such a wonderful holiday as we take a step back and reflect, be upmost Thankful and grateful for what our Lord did for us all those thousands of years ago!

BUT Unfortunately I have been taken aback about the lack of thankfulness of what a gift Our ANZACS have given us over the past Century!
Always does a tear appear when I think of how many lives have been given so we are free and life in a safe Country!
I am so Thankful that these Men and Women do these very difficult jobs, as without them life would be much different!

I hope this Attitude changes towards our many ANZAC Heroes as in this day and age,
We MUST be thankful as they do an amazing job at protecting all of us!

So, please as you celebrate Easter with your families,
Please take the time to reflect on what this Holiday means to you and your family!
And if you have have the opportunity, please let our service men and women know how much you appreciate them - as They certainly do not get thanked enough!

NEW Desk . . . . Again!

BACK AGAIN!!
Would you believe recently, I got lucky again!!
My wonderful up-line Onie Schroder decided that she wanted update her craft area,
with a NEW Desk which is longer and to open up her creative space!

So, I inherited another Onie Desk!
BUT I must say in no-way was it a hand-me-down!!

It is brilliant!
I had it all put together and working within 3 hours after it was delivered,
All WITHOUT any Instructions!!

I am just loving it - I really had no clue how or where
I was going to be able to fit it in my craft room . . . .
BUT it fits perfectly and with a few maneuverings, have it all organized again and have been creating up a storm!!
**Must of come with some essence of ♥Onie♥ Mojo I swear!**

I had a few comments on our facebook page that when I post photos,
They would like to see what it looks like when I am creating . . . . hahaha!
So here are some Picies of my NEW Space . . . . . I finally have that space under the window,
that which I have always wanted!!
So Beautiful in the mornings . . . . too bad the scenery is crap!!

It was taken with my iTouch and the camera on that is just not the best . . . .
Plus the first couple have been taken at night!
My FujiFilm S1800 also has decided it doesn't want to store or read my pictures I have taken of late . . . .
NOT Cool!
BUT, luckily my Nokia E71 has come to the rescue!

Creating Better Pictures

I don't know if you have noticed but I have been increasingly frustrated with how my photos look,
especially when I'm taking pictures of my creations to share with you all
and the colors or textures just don't come out correct!!

So, I set to work this past week to try to rectify that!
I found a tutorial online from another wonderful Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator - Linda Aarhus
which made it so much simpler,
I found a box, paint {as could't find a white box}and some cheap as lamps from Kmart!
BUT I couldn't get the correct globes as of yet, so that will be part 2!!

Started with a plain cardboard box, un-done at adhered edge

Slap a whole heap of white paint on inside of box
**TIP: Best to use bright white house paint**

I only had Kaisercraft Paint, so had to do quite a few coats of paint!!

Once the Paint is dry, measure out your 'windows'
I used at good 1" - 1 1/4" edges.
Remember: you will need two sides and the top cut out!

Once measured and are happy,
Cut 'windows' out with box cutter or craft knife!
I had to use both as my box cutter was a lil blunt,
so I neatened the cuts with my craft knife with a metal ruler!

Once all cut out you should have something looking like this!
once happy, stick together with 24mm double sided 'extra sticky' tape.

NOW, all you need is some cotton/linen Sheet!

Adhere the sheet of sheet in one whole peice
Adhere with the 24mm 'Sticky' Double Sided Tape
Smoothing and stretching as you go around box!

Best results are during the Day,
Sometimes you may not need the lamps . . . . .

This sample was taken at night with NO Lamps . . . .

This sample was early morning with bright light,
barely tell a difference?
in this inference, you don't need the lamps
Just daylight/lights!

BUT, You will need the lamps when
it is late afternoon and not much bright light!
Just like here in this sample . . . .

So I hope between Linda's and my instructions,
it makes it a lil' more simple to create one for yourself if need be!

I actually had fun creating this,
but i think if it is possible to find at least a 13" - 18" box down the line it will be a lot more useful!
As unfortunately the windows sometimes are in the background in my pic's it seams!!
the box seams to need to be much wider . . . .

Been awhile . . . . . I know!
I just wanted to pop by for a short one this Sunday afternoon,
to clear up a few queries!

As some of you may had read, heard or have been told,
from May 1st I will no longer be a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator.
Yes, this is unfortunately true!
As with the crazy beginning of our year it has been tough on me to continue with the workload that I had,
Plus even with all the support and understanding that Stampin' Up!® have given me,
I was not able to reach my sales goals for the quarter.
Therefore this means that I will be resigning.

BUT . . . . AND this is a big But!
I will still be continuing to offer Projects, Kits and Workshops!!!!
I have plenty of these coming up - trust me!
AND I will be continuing to use plenty of Stampin' Up!® Product,
as I very much still adore their products . . . by far they are superior!

for a lil' over a year now,
I have absolutely enjoyed my time as a demo . . . .
BUT with all the craziness of the beginning of this year it just seams the right decision at the moment for me and my family,
Is for me to unfortunately resign from Stampin' Up!®

Yup, I'm back on deck!

Had to jump right back in the daily grind after our wonderful week away . . . . . Didn't get to mention anything about that before we left, as i was packing, cleaning like crazy, organizing the Kid and a million and one other things!

Me and Hub's went away for a week up to the Central Coast - Norah Head!

Spent plenty of time around in the surrounding towns like Budgewoi - Beautiful Fish n' Chips,
Soldier's Beach, Tuggerah, Toowoon Bay and 'The Entrance' - where I found a local Scrapbook Store!

Hubby say's i can sniff them out but in all honestly they find me!?

We enjoyed the Norah Head Lighthouse - went on the tour Through it!

It sure was a beautiful place,
On Monday the 21st - Our Anniversary - We even finally got to see my Cronulla Sharkies absolutely thrash the So-called NRL Premiers & World Champions - St. George Illawarra Dragons!!
PLUS we got a Brilliant Sunset with a shower or two of rain {See picture!}

We seamed to escape the horrid weather that back home got hammered with!
Came back after the floods in the Illawarra - but it was scarry watching it on the news - Had no idea what We'd be coming home to!
AND hoping family was safe!
Thankfully there wasn't too much damage, just our Gazebo Roof caved in with the weight of the water and just the usual flooding in our Garage! Oh I LOVE that ONE!!
Bit to clean up so that kept me busy the first day or two back home!

Sorry I have been quite absent over the last month or so, not from the lack of wanting to blog but just getting the time to Blog!!
Those of you that visit me over at our Facebook page probably have been seeing a tad bit more!

I'm trying to give my Craft Studio a bit of a clean . . . Again!
Then, I will be able to start taking some pictures of what I have been Creating!!
With the help of Linda from Polka Dots and Paper, Hopefully my Photos of the cards will start to look a lot better!

Just a quick one before I chuff off to bed . . . .
Sorry I have been a lil' AWOL but this clean-out of my studio has taken me a bit longer than I thought!
So much to go thru, but it's a lovely cleansing experience!!
So that is why I have been a lil' quite of late . . . .

I had another 3 Cricut™ Cartridges arrive this morning AND I still haven't been able to play with the last couple as yet . . . . so NO MORE til' some play time has happened!!
Couldn't resist a SALE!!! ㋡

I'll show you when I have had the chance,
unfortunately even tho the studio is clean and been cleared it still seams to be a storage area for all the baby items I have been given of late!
NO - no special news yet, friends have just been clearing out so, they land here . . . .

Oh well, hopefully i'll be able to move in here shortly and get some fantastic projects done to share with you all . . . .

How was everyone's weekend??
Boy, did we have a scorcher of a week . . . .
Saturday ended with 'nearly' all of us in the pool!!
I say nearly as I wasn't allowed in but had at least get my feet n' legs wet!!
BUT Hubby and Cheye had a wowver of a time!
Thought I'd share some family pic's of the w'end with you all . . . .

Anyway,
So I know I was meant to sit, relax and craft over the w'end . . . .
well that didn't happen, as hubby worked overtime, the house needed a clean AND my Craft room was an absolute bombshell!!
So, I decided it was time to do some clearing out!!
My body let me do it and hubby gave me my w'end sleep in's so I could do it!!
I have needed plenty of rest as have been losing a lot of energy by an unmentionable source!! Grrr!!

So, so far NO craft has happened just lots of piles of junk and in the end some floor space . . . .
Which I haven't seen in quite some time!
My thoughts behind this is, since I'm NOT needing this Room as so much a craft Studio anymore,
BUT more a nursery, God willing . . . . Soon!
I thought I'd clear some junk out!!
Yay,
Sooo cleansing - getting rid of all this unwanted paperwork!!
BUT, in the meantime I have realized I don't need as much shelving anymore,

How did everyone's first week back to normality, with Kid's back at School been??
Our's was pretty relaxed,
Cheye's had a week off from Homework as the School is 'STILL' trying to sort out the classes and teachers 2011 arrangement!?
So it has been nice just to hang out in the pool and chat about our days, just girl time!!
Especially with these amazing summer days . . . .

It's been a joy, she's really grown up over the last 6 weeks,
It's amazing how they hit the double digits and they grow up over-night!!
NOW She's a Year 5er, she actually enjoy's chatting with me about the goings on with the girls at school!?
Nice to finally feel like she understands what I say and my advice!
Finally getting some life experience under her belt!!

Anyway,
I have been a bit quite this week!
Really have not been able to find my Cricut™ under all the mess on my Desk this week!
I Have another 2 NEW Cartridges I want to start playing with . . . .

So, tomorrow I have to sit still a bit - health issues again!
Sooo, I might just get some craftin' in!!

I better as I have another 3 Cartridges on their way,
I just LOVE Cricut™ Sales!!
BUT this will be it for now as I've spent my Birthday Money and since I hadn't added to my Cartridge library in 4yrs I thought I was due to a Spurge!!

School Days again!

I'm just dropping in before bed!!!
YES, School starts again tomorrow bright n' early!
FREEDOM . . . . . .

How many of you are also looking forward to 8:30am?
Though, I am looking forward to walking my daughter to school, nice early morning walks!!

Only 2 years left for me to enjoy these until it starts again for me {hopefully} in a few years down the track . .
Last lot of RPS Uniform's purchased and should last . . .
Cheye's off to High School Down the Coast in 2013!!
Am I Insane . . . . so close to freedom and I want to go back to the beginning and start all over again! :-)
Oh well, at least they start out cute, eh?!

BUT at least I have my Cricut™ to myself again as ever since my daughter discovered I had a Pooh Bear Cartridge - She has been Going to town!!

BUT, as we have been blessed with such a lovely few days, the thing I'm most looking forward to is having nice sunny afternoons, without disruption in the backyard Pool!!

Yes, today I thought I'd use the benefit of the nice hot day and clean out the pool, considering no one else was going to do it anytime soon!!
Mum to the job, everytime!!!
Well then, Mum's going to be the one enjoying it, eh!

I have been havin' some fun since my Mini Monsters Cricut™ Cartridge arrived yesterday!!
So far I have made around 4 cards of assorted designs,
But I just wanted to quickly share just one of them quickly tonight as I run out the door to my 30th Party!!

Isn't it sooo cute,
I made this for a Friend's birthday!
She has a sense of humor just like mine, so i thought this would be a cool card!
Inside is the Phrase 'Wicked Wishes'!!

In this Mini Monsters Cartridge there are soo many cute and fun card designs, one for each icon!!
So I'm sure i'll be back during the week to show you more creations!!

I'd thought I'd share my Belated B'day Celebration Invitation . . . .

As my 30th Party got post-poned as I had the emergency surgery only the day before!

So, we're going to try again as we think we've got much more to celebrate as

'I MADE IT PAST 30!!'

I wanted a Cocktail theme style with Bling!

What do you think??

a Lil' bare . . . Mmmn I know - I think I would of loved to add some Hibiscus to the bottom right corner, as that's sooo me!

But didn't have too much time . . . . .

The Invites didn't turn out as perfect as the first one, but that happens when you run out of Spritz half way thru!!!

BUT I love the Glittery, Shimmer Look - You can make Shimmer card/paper out of any type!!

I'm not too sure if you can see the Shimmer, but it's pretty spectacular when it works!!

Materials:

Stampin' Up!® Card - Bermuda Bay*, Cameo Coral*, Basic Black

Big Shot™ Emboss Folder - Vintage Wallpaper

Smooth Spritz™ - Vanilla Shimmer {you need plenty as the 11mls bottle only does about 4 cards!}

12mm Satin Black Ribbon

10mm Rhinestone Slide letters

Smooch Spritz™ aren't not too bad Price-wise too,

with a 11ml vial costing between $4.50 - $7.50!!

plenty of shimmer colors to choose from too . . .

I couldn't seem to get such a sparkle with any other medium - they just sparkle with a nice Metallic Spritz!

The only other way you can do it is with Shimmer Paint available from Stampin' Up!

Just add rubbing alcohol to the paint and spritz it on your card with a Spritz bottle!!

As with all the changes in the last month,
I will NOT be holding any January workshops,
BUT I am thinking on returning to just my monthly workshops from February 20th.
If you are interested let me know, as this will help with how regular I do my workshops.

My Thoughts of the Day!

Just poppin' in for a quick one . . . . OR NOT!
Hope you don't mind but I'd like to add some thought's to the Blog that isn't craft related for a change.
As we all know we can't live on craftin' alone . . . as much as we'd love to!
So please excuse me if this gets a bit personal . . . .

The Events of the past couple of weeks have really been playing on my mind of late,
Re-Evaluating what's important in life.
And I think I have come to the conclusion that I have to live life, enjoy my family and slow down and smell the Roses {or in my case Frangipani's!}

The one thing for sure that has really hit home, Is how much I love my Hubby!
He really is my Rock - Where would I be without him??
God only knows . . . . . He sent him!
Russ is my Perfect Man and this experience has done nothing but brought us closer and more aware on how much We mean to each other!
He really is the Beautiful Man I met and fell in love with only 4 years ago.
AND When something like this happens, you are always reminded on what matters most!

I've been enjoying craftin' for myself, for the First time in absolute years . . . .
AND even tho Cheye, my daughter is pushin' it with the near end of the school holidays - I have been enjoying slowing down and taking it easy, being at home.
Even tho I'm as lethargic as can be and have not been sleeping well at all.
BUT I think that comes with what I have been through.
Unfortunately, I cannot just push my emotional feelings to one side and just keep going as nothing happened.
This I think is where the craftin' is going to kick in and help take my mind off things and deal with the emotions in time.

All of this has got me thinking about my future with Stampin' Up!®,
I really have no idea where that is headed.
But I will still be a demonstrator for at least these next 3 months - hopefully this will give me plenty of time to work out what I would like to do.
Continue with Mel Creations . . . . . Well that will always be in Exsistance,
BUT whether I will be actively offering classes and distributing products I'm none too sure at this point in time.

So I think my main point here was to let you know,
I'm human and that I am tossing up my options for the future.
BUT plenty can change in 3 months . . . . . who knows some Joyous Special News may just change my point of view!

The only one who knows what lays ahead for me and my family is the good Lord!
The one Person who I can always find peace with and who has brought me through this experience with joy of the knowledge of having a future with my family.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers as we still need the Prayer Power!!

ME Time . . . . . AND My Cricut®!!

Hi Guys,
Even tho I'm not feeling the best today . . . I'm here blogging!

Been spending some time for myself today . . . . AND I just had to share this with you all!!

Since I have had to make some time for myself, I have re-discovered my Cricut® Expression and Scrapbooking!!

YES!!

I have re-discovered SCRAPBOOKING . . . .
I know for those of you who know me personally,

This is a craft I have not had time for since my Daughter was very lil' and before I started the Business!

So, I have discovered that the Cricut® Cartridge world has changed since and there is a huge range of NEW and exciting Image, Font and 3D cartridges out there . . . .

Including this one!

I just picked this one up soo cheap and I just thought it was just too cute!

It's called Mini Monsters and it is basically a Halloween cartridge but in my mind, my mojo is working overtime!

Which is great as it's not been turned on in quite some time! :-)

Many of you, maybe thinking 'I have totally lost the plot!'
BUT . . . No, I do have a love of Scrapbooking BUT Stamping will always n' forever be my favourite!
Changin' it up every now and then never hurt no-one . . . .

As much as I love the Business it just takes me away from me enjoying crafting and my family way too much!
maybe one day when I have my organizational skills down-pat I'll be back!

Hello 2011!

Back again!
Sorry for the quietness this week but a family situation arose over the W'end!
therefore this will have an effect on Mel Creations in general in the coming weeks,
I{Mel},
Required Emergency Surgery for an Ectopic Pregnancy which was quite advanced, unbeknown to us!
As you can imagine it was quite a surprise,
So a few thing have been placed on the back-burner.

I will still be hopefully still creating but I am at this time not able to do as much as I have been doing in the past.
So I have decided to concentrate on my family and rest easy.
I'm sure you all will understand.

From time to time I will still be bloging my creations,
don't forget to check out our Facebook page which is regularly updated.

I will still be accepting and processing orders,
so please stay in touch!

I'm hoping to be on the mend by the end of January and hopefully I will have some joyful news to share!

Christmas Baubles

YES,

I have been busy this past weekend, to say the least!

As NOT only did I have My Daughter's Party BUT also had a Christmas Workshop out at Tallong again!

This was the 2nd Workshop held by the same group so I wanted to change up things a bit,
As most of the Girls are beginner's BUT love Embossing!

So I wanted to show them a few of the many,
simple Techniques using Embossing!

AND what do you know, I actually got 3 different Techniques on one card!

Wet Embossing, Dry Embossing with the Big Shot and Embossing with Glitter!

I'm quite proud of these cards,

even since these actually only took me 1/2 an hour at most to design the night before!

They're really simple,

using our fab Delightful Decorations, Welcome Christmas Stamp Sets and the Ornament Punch!
Just Luv the NEW Design Punches!!

Popcicle Invite's!

Hi,
YES - I have been very quite here for a while!
BUT if you have been following us over at our Facebook page,
You will notice we have been quite busy!

I'm sure you are all VERY busy with Christmas preparations,
I'm not So much apart from Chrissy cards,
As My Daughter's {1-0th} birthday is still to come just as yet!
So in OUR House, Decorations or Preparations do NOT begin until at least 3rd December!!

{Well . . . . Maybe a tad bit later this year - as we are ALL attending the Sydney 500 V8 Supercars Event @ Olympic Park - YAY!}

We celebrated Cheye's birthday, with her friends last Saturday.
Roller-Skating, just like the old days {NOW I'm ageing!}
They had plenty of fun, ended with Cheye getting quite a bump on her bum! But it was a fun night for the Girl's!
This was her invite, which i was quite proud of!
finally, being able to use some Summery Colors and the Tart & Tangy/Party this Way Stamp Set's!
The 'Party this way' was meant to be a spinner on the card but I got a lil' carried away with mounting the Fruits, so it is just there to look good - NOT much spinning I'm afraid!

I hope you like 'em as much as I did!

I'm sure we all have our favourite products that we love to use even when they have been discontinued or 'retired'!
and we can never have too many ideas on how to use those 'fav's'!
Therefore I'm going to be regularly posting some ideas on our Discontinued/Retired Products.

Today, I'll be focusing on 'Live like you mean it' Stamp Set.
This is a 2-Step Stamping set that was in our 2009-10 Catalogue as a Hostess Set.
I hope I can show you just one idea of many ways to use this stamp set.

Stamps: 'Live like you mean it' Hostess Set
Card: Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Rhinestones, Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Polly-Stitch Ribbon

Tip: So you don't have to trim the ribbon, you can cut a slit in the scored card edge with a craft knife and slip the ribbon through to attach on the inside of the card.

A Card for You!

Hi All,
You may have noticed {or not?} that I have been a little quite from projects of late!
Yes, home-life has been keeping me busy!
Once i get the Kid off to school, Have breakfast, Spend some time with Hubby, cleaning etc - then by then, the kid is basically on her way home {Already!!}.
So basically I really have to knuckle down and get some stampin' time in!

And as you can see it just has NOT been happening!!
BUT last Friday I actually took some time out to go to a craft night {what a change}
Usually you girls are the ones coming to me for crafty nite's!
It was just wonderful to just be able to hang out with like minded people and just have fun craftin' away!

Of course I didn't want to stop and come home!

BUT I actually for a change got some things {cards} done!!
I'm sure I have a few readers {I Hope?}
that know I really don't do much crafting away from the studio as I tend to socialise more!
NOT this time I'm happy to report . . . . I created and socialised for the first time *LOL*!

This is going to be a *bumper* post!

That I just had not used enough or YET!!
As well as using up retired/discontinued card, papers, colors, etc!

You proberly notice that I do favor some certain colors,
Can't be helped as we all have our favourite's eh?!
I challenge myself with using one main product like a stamp set and designing around the main choice!
hopefully i'll change things up and have something different for you next post!

Thought I'd give you a peek at what I'm playing with!
Just mucking around really, using up some of my old cardstock!
Had 5 mins on my hands so i began playing and this is what I came up with,
A really simple card which literally took 5 minutes!

Basically easy as 1, 2, 3!
Emboss Core`Dinations Card in Big Shot with the Mahnattah Rose Emboss Folder,
Trim down to fit on front of Card,
Sand it with the Sanding Block,
Adhere to front of card,
Wet Emboss Sentiment with White Emboss Powder and Heat Gun on bottom left front of Base Card!
THAT simple!!

Great for a quick card for any occasion!

Christmas Cards??

Hi All,
No nothing NEW to show you today . . . unfortunately!!

I have spent the w'end tryin' to gather some chrissy card ideas together,
But found I with what I have I wasn't able to get my mojo working!!
Don't you just love that eh!?

So off I went window shopping in our NEW Catty!!
AND it went from oh, um, mmnn can't find anything that inspires me to a $500 wish list!!!
Clearly the mojo clicked into gear!!

Of course even I can't afford $500 on Chrissy! LOL

And you know how it is when you try to cull the list,
sometimes it gets bigger and then you just can't cull it cause you need it all!!

I know, I know! What to do . . .
Well I think I sorted it out!
So From Monday the 20th of September our Christmas workshops will commence!
{Can't believe it is this time of year again!!}

Hi All,
Hope you had a lovely Father's Day Weekend.

I was a lil' swamped but i did manage to create a card for my dad.
my aim was to match the gift bag that I had for his Pressie,
he seamed to think i match it pretty well,
My Mum asked me what paper I had used on the background . . . to her surprise I told her it's all stamped!!
What do you all think??

Amazing Creative Workshop!

Good Morning All,

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go out to Tallong in NSW and do a Workshop for a lovely bunch of ladies!

I think we all had a wonderful time and had some fun creating some simple but effective cards!

These are just some of the cards we created.

a simple technique that is easily re-created at home with very little products needed.

Girls got a sneak peek @ one of the Level 3 Hostess Sets too!!

We had fun actually embossing these with the toaster . . . . . WHAT You say!!

Yes, you CAN emboss with a toaster!!!!!

Something we all have in our house!!

The Technique we used was called Emboss Resist,

It is a simple technique but can create some amazing looks.

All you need is white card, watermark ink, white embossing powder & heat gun/Toaster!!

to create the color all you need is some tissues/sponge daubers and ink pads/ink.
